BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) – An inbound China-Europe freight train from Bremerhaven Port in Germany, carrying 82 finished automobiles manufactured by the German automaker Audi, on Thursday arrived in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, reported the Xinhua-run cnstock.com Friday.
Relying on the China-Europe freight service, Xi'an has developed a whole automobile industry chain, which integrates the functions of vehicle imports and exports, spare parts distribution, warehousing and transportation, refitting and equipment, and inspection and maintenance.
Since the launching of inbound freight services for finished vehicles in 2018, a total of 47,192 cars have been imported and exported via Xi'an, while 22,812 cars were shipped this year, accounting for 87 percent of the annual finished vehicel transport volume of China's inland railway ports.
The freight service carrying Audi vehicles has further extended the freight train's inbound supply in Xi'an while reducing the total logistic costs of inland automobile import enterprises.
So far, Xi'an has launched 15 freight train routes linking 45 countries and regions along the Belt and Road (B&R).
