BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- China Merchants Group signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Alibaba and Ant Group in Hangzhou, capital city of east China's Zhejiang Province, on Sunday in a bid to promote the digital upgrading of industries and better serve the real economy.
According to the agreement, the three sides will share their respective advantageous resources and promote in-depth cooperation in industrial Internet, financial service, integrated logistics, emerging industries and other business areas.
Hu Jianhua, general manager of China Merchants Group, expressed the expectation that the cooperation among three parties in the fields of industry, technology and digitalization can be further deepened and realized during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). Close cooperation in overseas business is expected in order to benefit the countries along the Belt and Road.
Ant Group CEO Hu Xiaoming said that the strategic cooperation enables the integration of digital technology and real economy. Ant Group will work with China Merchants Group to jointly promote the digital upgrading of transportation, logistics and finance and thus boost the development of the real economy.
Based on the agreement, the three parties will join hands to build a smart port opening platform, a comprehensive logistics collaboration platform and a park comprehensive service platform. They will work together to explore and promote the application of fintech in consumer finance, industrial finance and other fields, jointly make innovative research in fintech field, and strive to accelerate industrial digitalization and intelligentization.
