On the morning of September 23, 2020, Haikou City held an investment promotion conference with the theme of "Policies and Opportunities of the Hainan Free Trade Port" for the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) and 34 multinational companies. The conference aimed to promote the Hainan Free Trade Port to the Global Fortune 500 companies, in a bid to attract foreign investments.
At the meeting, the Haikou International Investment Promotion Bureau presented a comprehensive introduction to Haikou's regional advantages, industrial benefits, business environment, and Free Trade Port policies. Representatives of participating companies and personnel in charge of various districts, parks, and departments in Haikou conducted in-depth exchanges with the attendees.

A EUCCC representative pointed out that the visiting delegates were highly impressed with Hainan's continued efforts to create an optimal business environment. He added the EUCCC will give full play to its role as a bridge between the government and enterprises in promoting Hainan as a free trade port along with providing support to multinational companies investing in Haikou.
