BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- South China's island province Hainan recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Life, one of China's largest commercial insurance groups, to jointly promote the development of financial and insurance industries in the Hainan free trade port, reported Hainan Daily on Monday.
According to the agreement, the two sides will deepen long-term cooperation in the fields of investment and financing, health care and medicine, free trade port projects, insurance, scientific and technological innovation.
The strategic cooperation between Hainan Province and China Life is the latest move by central-governmental enterprise to further participate in the construction of Hainan free trade port, said Liu Cigui, party chief of Hainan Province, adding that Hainan will fully support China Life's development in the province and jointly implement the contents of the agreement.
According to Wang Bin, chairman of China Life, the construction of Hainan free trade port and the optimization of the business environment have all strengthened China Life's confidence in investing in Hainan.
China Life will further leverage its advantages in insurance funds and strengthen cooperation with Hainan in areas including financial services, infrastructure construction, healthcare and samrt city construction, said Wang.
