BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- China is mulling over issuing guidelines to promote and support the healthy development of rural homestays, said an official with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Sunday.
In order to boost the high-quality development of rural tourism and homestays, China will strive to guide market entities in the tourism industry to make good use of relevant favorable policies and support medium-sized, small and micro enterprises in getting discounted loans.
Recently, the ministry has unveiled 300 national rural tourism routes and a name list of 1,000 key villages for rural tourism.
The official said that rural tourism is expected to usher in a wave of travel peak during the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which will run from October 1 to October 8. (Edited by Zhang Yuan with Xinhua Silk Road, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
