BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) – China had issued a total of 8.53 billion bank cards by the end of 2019, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Wednesday.
Among them, about 700 million bank cards were issued in 2019, according to a report released by the China Banking Association on Wednesday.
The report showed that a total of 321.99 billion bank card transactions occurred nationwide by the end of last year with an amount of 822.3 trillion yuan involved, an increase of 53.1 percent and 4.1 percent year on year, respectively.
Besides, the bank card outstanding credit balance amounted to 7.59 trillion yuan by the end of 2019, up 10.8 percent year on year, the report said.
