BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- China's cement industry has ushered in the traditional busy season since September, with a tonne of cement rising 60 yuan in east China, reported the CCTV news on Wednesday.
In fact, since mid-August, cement prices across China have continued to rise. Cement shipments have climbed synchronously. A number of cement manufacturers in east China's Zhejiang, Anhui and Jiangsu have issued notices for price hikes.
The head of a cement trading company in Shaoxing, east China's Zhejiang Province, said that more than 200 cement carriers set out from the company every day to distribute the cement from upstream plants to downstream concrete mixing plants. Cement prices have gone through two rounds of price hikes since early August. (Edited by Deng Lihao, Zhang Yuan with Xinhua Silk Road, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
