BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- China's internet giant Tencent revealed new strategy on smart transportation "We Transport" at its Global Digital Ecosystem Summit on Thursday.
It's learned that "We transport" is a medium and long-term strategic plan for the company to develop its smart transportation solution, which focuses on traffic construction, management, operation and service.
"We Transport" strategy, distinguished from other similar plans, is "people-oriented", as smart transport is designated to address the incompatible supply and demand, a root cause for traffic congestion, said Shi Xuesong, vice president of Tencent's smart transportation.
The Shenzhen-based company has long been engaging in the field of smart transportation. For example, it launched a project to test the intelligent connected vehicles by using the virtual simulation technology in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province.
Earlier, Tencent also unveiled the smart travel assistant product, which provides real-time bus/metro broadcast and route planning to improve travel efficiency, and greatly benefits the urban commuters.
During the summit, Tencent also launched a partnership plan with several transport service providers and technological firms dedicating in transport industry.
