BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Hangzhou, capital city of east China's Zhejiang Province, recently launched a plan to build 18 representative cultural and tourism scenic spots with international influence and high quality within three years, aiming to promote the integration of Hangzhou's cultural and tourism industries.
In terms of natural landscapes, Hangzhou will build the national culture park of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal (Hangzhou Section), create Chun'an national comprehensive tourism demonstration zone and Qiandao Lake national tourism sesort, promote the upgrade of Xianghu Lake national tourism resort, and build Lin'an international mountain tourism destination.
As for cultural tourism sites, Hangzhou will strive to focus on the comprehensive protection and utilization of the ancient city of Yanzhou, the Liangzhu ruins, the Fuyang Xindeng ancient city and other historical tourism attractions.
In addition, Hangzhou will also promote the construction of the city's urban brain cultural and tourism system, excavate and protect the seawall culture, and build the Qiantang new district industrial tourism demonstration zone.
According to Hangzhou municipal government, all localities and relevant departments should establish a system to promote these projects, strengthen the regular supervision system, and incorporate progress into the government's performance evaluation.
As a city with a permanent population of over 10 million, a total economic volume of over 1.5 trillion yuan and a per capita GDP of over 20,000 U.S. dollars, high-quality cultural and tourism industry development have become more and more neccesary for Hangzhou and its residents.
