BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- China's futures market in August continued to report double-digit growth in both trading volume and turnover, industry data shows.
The trading volume of futures last month stood at 551.6 million lots, with a turnover of 45.97 trillion yuan (around 6.72 trillion U.S. dollars). Both figures edged up 38.32 percent and 55.21 percent, respectively, from the same period last year, according to the China Futures Association.
In the first eight months of 2020, the trading volume of the market totaled 3.64 billion lots, an increase of 42.85 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, the January-August period saw a total turnover of 256.86 trillion yuan, up 37.1 percent year on year.
In August, the Shanghai Futures Exchange was the top bourse in terms of turnover, which stood at 18.45 trillion yuan, up 53.55 percent year on year. Enditem
