BEIJING, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will recall some imported Audi vehicles from the Chinese market because of a possible risk of fires, according to the country's top quality watchdog.
The recall, set to begin on Sept. 25, will involve 2,845 imported Audi A8 and S8 models manufactured between June 15, 2012 and Oct. 5, 2017, according to a statement on the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation.
The seal strip of the engine compartment may deform in the case of high temperature, leading to fires in extreme cases.
Audi's authorized dealers will install retaining plate for the recalled vehicles free of charge to defuse safety hazard, the statement said. Enditem
