CHANGCHUN, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Construction of a new energy vehicle (NEV) industrial park has recently started in Changchun International Auto City, northeast China's Jilin province.
With a total investment of 1.2 billion yuan (about 173.5 million U.S. dollars), the NEV industrial park has a planned total area of about 260,000 square meters. China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. undertakes the construction of the park which is expected to be completed and put into use in 2022.
Changchun International Auto City is a key strategic program launched by the local government. Led by the FAW Group, it targets to become a world-class R&D, production and market service base for complete vehicles and parts, and a demonstration zone for the high-quality development of the automotive industry.
The NEV industrial park will further improve the NEV industrial chain, expand the scale of promotion and application, and build a NEV industry ecology and advanced manufacturing cluster.
It is reported that the NEV industrial park will integrate scientific and technological innovation, production and manufacturing, modern logistics, international business, information exchanges and comprehensive services. (Edited by Hu Pingchao with Xinhua Silk Road, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
