BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Yunnan province has recently announced a total of 704 "new infrastructure" projects to be launched in the following three years, according to Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
The 704 projects include 53 5G network construction projects, 48 supplementary network shortcoming projects, 33 industrial Internet platform projects, 30 blockchain technology cloud platform projects, 30 green data center and computing power platform projects, 48 smart transportation projects and projects in other fields.
Yunnan will make its full efforts in strengthening organization capacity and management and providing relevant guarantees to beef up "new infrastructure" construction, which is expected to bring new drivers for the economy.
"New infrastructure" refers to digital facilities such as 5G base stations, vehicle charging stations, big data centers, artificial intelligence and industrial internet. (Edited by Gao Jingyan with Xinhua Silk Road, gaojingyan@xinhua.org)
