BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) – East China's Jiangxi Province saw its foreign trade rise 26.4 percent year on year to 236.38 billion yuan in the January to July period of the year, local authorities said recently.
During the same period, Jiangxi's exports picked up 28 percent year on year to 172.89 billion yuan, while imports gained 22.1 percent to 63.49 billion yuan, according to the customs of Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi.
The stay-at-home economy and epidemic prevention and control supplies maintained rapid growth during the period, contributing 19.4 percentage points to Jiangxi's exports growth.
To be specific, exports of medical supplies such as facial masks and medical equipment amounted to 5.93 billion yuan and 820 million yuan, up 86.2 percent and 44.4 percent year on year, respectively.
Meanwhile, home consumer goods such as laptops and mobile phones surged 134.5 times and 3.4 times in exports during the same period, respectively.
The province reported a 48.3 percent increase to 35.72 billion yuan in mechanical and electrical products in the first seven months.
