BEIJING, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) – A China-Europe cargo train service linking Guangzhou, capital of south Chin's Guangdong Province, with the city of Selyatino in Russia, set off from Guangzhou on August 9, reported Guangdong Daily Wednesday.

The freight train, loaded full of domestic produced toys and leather goods, is expected to arrive in Russia in 15 days, passing through Erenhot Port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

In the first half of the year, the cargo train in Guangzhou has provided freight services to more than 1,500 enterprises in the province, posting a cumulative foreign trade value exceeding 1.148 billion yuan, official data showed.

According to the Guangzhou customs, it witnessed a total of 2,870 TEUs of goods be shipped in the first six months of the year, up 40.08 percent year on year, while the number of freight trains supervised by the customs surged 45.45 percent year on year to 32 during the same period.

The province has opened four international freight train routes between central Europe and Central Asia since the year beginning, with destinations including Poland, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

The Guangzhou customs has formulated specific customs clearance policies for cross-border e-commerce multimodal logistics to ensure the transportation of the locally produced commodities such as small household appliances, furniture, and toys to the Belt and Road (B&R) countries, said the local customs.
