BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) – Northwest China's Shaanxi Province sawa its fruits exports surge 86.49 percent year on year to 112,400 tonnes in the first half of the year, with export value amounted to 843 million yuan, up 66.13 percent year on year, showed latest data from Xi'an customs.
During the same period, Shaanxi's fresh fruits export value totaled 136 million yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 12.41 percent. Among them, the total exports of crisp apples, pears, and kiwifruit accounted for 98.43 percent of the province's total, according tp the local customs.
Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Indonesia stayed as the largest fresh fruit export destination of Shaanxi in the first half of 2010 with cumulative exports to the five countries accounting for 92.63 percent of the provincial total.
In addition, the province's exports of processed products reached 647.58 tonnes in the first half of the year, up 52.83 percent over the same period last year.
