InfoQuest (August 10, 2020) -- The Center for Economic and Business Forecast of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce announced that the consumer confidence index (CCI) rose for the third consecutive month to 50.1 in July 2020 from 49.2 in June,the composite economic confidence index rose to 42.6 from 41.4 in June, the employment opportunity confidence index rose from 47.6 to 48.4, and the future income confidence index rose from 58.6 to 59.3.
Favorable factors for the above index rise include the fifth release of restrictions, issuance of relevant policies and stable oil prices in Thailand.
But unfavorable factors are panic over the spread of COVID-19, GDP growth possibly lowered by the Ministry of Finance to -8.5 percent in 2020, concerns about the political situations and political gatherings, and consumer's anxiety about the economic slowdown.
