BEIJING, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- China (Shaanxi)-ASEAN Investment and Cooperation Forum kicked off on Wednesday on-site and online in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi Province, reported Shaanxi Daily Thursday.
Jointly held by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce and China-ASEAN Business Council (CABC), the forum aims at further deepening cooperation in various fields between Shaanxi and ASEAN countries.
In recent years, economic and trade cooperation between Shaanxi and ASEAN has achieved fruitful results. Shaanxi's imports and exports to ASEAN increased 66.3 percent year on year, according to Xu Datong, vice governor of Shaanxi Province.
The forum is an innovative economic and trade cooperation activity carried out by Shaanxi and ASEAN countries through the digital platform, said Xu. He added that as the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, Shaanxi has unique location and transportation advantages that facilitate the cooperation between the two sides.
It is noted that the forum attracted representatives from 139 ASEAN business associations and enterprises in Shaanxi Province.
