BEIJING, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- A China-Europe freight train carrying 1,118 tonnes of Russian imported oats on Sunday arrived in northwest China's Qinghai Province, reported Chinanews.com Monday.
Departed from Russia, the freight train had traveled 5,700 kilometers to arrive in China after passing through the neighboring country of Mongolia.
As the first freight train of imported agricultural products to Qinghai, it will promote the cooperative development of grain and oil industries between Qinghai and the Belt and Road (B&R) countries, and alleviate the raw materials shortage ofgrain processing enterprises in Qinghai, said the Xining Customs.
It is noted that with the high demand for imported raw materials from oat production and processing enterprises in Qinghai Province, local enterprises have begun to expand foreign markets.
The launch of the agricultural products freight service marks an essential measure for Xining to implement the Sino-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation and expand the trade of agricultural products between the two sides, said the local authority.
