BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Henan Province has increased its support for the development of 5G, with 4.91 billion yuan invested in this area by far, reported the Henan Daily on Friday.
As of July 29, Henan Province had built a total of 24,024 5G base stations, of which 13,340 new ones were put into use this year.
In 2020, Henan plans to build 29,816 5G base stations, all of which have got project approval. 29,120 of them have started construction, accounting for 97.7 percent of the total.
The projects involve 7 major application scenarios including "5G+" industrial Internet, smart medical services and smart transportation.
In terms of industrial development, Henan Province has seen many projects covering emerging areas such as 5G basic materials and basic devices. (Edited by Zhang Yuan with Xinhua Silk Road, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
