BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) – The laying of railway tracks for a new line linking Zhangjiajie, Jishou and Huaihua in central China's Hunan Province is in full swing, with track-laying work on the first section of the rail completed on Wednesday, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported.
The line has a total length of 246 km with a designed maximum speed of 350 km per hour.
Upon completion, it will cut the travel time between Huaihua and Zhangjiajie from the current 3.5 hours to about one hour.
It is learned that the railway is scheduled to fully open to traffic in 2021.
