BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has identified 164 key public-private partnership (PPP) projects in the region, with a total investment of 185.123 billion yuan, reported by local newspaper on Wednesday.
The projects are involved in the areas of medical and health, ecological and environmental protection, municipal engineering, transportation, water conservancy, comprehensive urban development, education, elderly care, forestry, sports, science and technology, tourism and culture. Some transportation, education and other PPP projects in Guangxi have entered the preparatory stage of research.
PPP projects act as collaborative investment models between government and private companies. Local authority of Guangxi shows determination on accelerating the promotion of the PPP model. In order to speed up the promotion and application of the PPP model, since July, a monthly progress report mechanism has been established and relative departments will track and supervise project progress.
