BEIJING, July 21 (Xinhua) -- With the acceleration of 5G applications and the explosive demand from new energy vehicles (NEVs), the multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) industry in China is expected to usher in robust growth, according to the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News on Tuesday.
The ceramic capacitors are widely used in military, consumer electronics and other fields, due to its advantages such as wide working stability range, small dielectric loss, small size and low price.
With the increase in the rate of automotive electronics and the growth of NEVs, the rapid iterative upgrade of smart phones and other consumer electronic products, and development of the terminals in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), Internet of Things (IoT) and new portable smart terminals, the MLCC products have embraced rapid growing market space.
Statistics from TF Securities show that since the beginning of this year, the prosperity of the MLCC industry has continued to increase, with revenues and profit margins entering an upward channel.
In the 5G era, smart terminal products need to increase the use of MLCC whether to improve performance or increase functions. Due to the limited space of PCB circuit boards, the increase in the number of MLCCs also raises the requirements for the MLCC performances, meaning that the development of MLCCs will follow the path of high reliability, high capacitance per unit volume (CV), miniaturization, and high frequency, according to Chaozhou Three-Circle (Group) Co., Ltd. (300408.SZ).
Against such background, Shandong Sinocera Functional Material Co., Ltd. (300285.SZ) announced to continuously increase research and development of ultra-micro MLCC dielectric materials to meet the needs of the downstream market. (Edited by Hu Pingchao with Xinhua Silk Road, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
