BEIJING, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The Daxing part of the airport economic zone of the Beijing Daxing International Airport recently held an online forum on the development of the life and health industry as an effort to build a world-class international life and health industrial cluster within the zone, reported Beijing Daily Monday.
An expert committee was set up at the forum to offer ideas and guidance on the life and health industry development within the zone.
The life and health industry is a leading industry in the zone which is striving to seek a new industrial development path by relying on the established industrial base, the location advantage and the policy advantages of the comprehensive bonded zone, said a source from the zone.
According to the zone's life and health industry development plan, an international life and health industrial park will be built within 50 square kilometers of the Daxing part of the zone.
The park will be composed of an international medical service area, a biomedicine and high-end device research and development (R&D) and manufacturing area, and an international biomedicine port, covering medical services, medical research and pharmaceutical industry.
Currently, there are already nine related enterprises negotiating to settle in the park.
It's learned that the urban design and international business planning of the park will soon be launched.
The Daxing part of the airport economic zone of the Beijing Daxing International Airport is divided into east and west groups. The west group is about 26 square kilometers, and the east group is about 24 square kilometers.
