HAIKOU, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Construction has been kicked off on a total of 121 projects in 18 cities and counties (districts) in south China's Hainan Province on Monday.
This is the second batch of projects for accelerating the construction of the free trade port. They involve a total investment of 28.1 billion yuan, 5.9 billion yuan of which will be invested this year. The projects cover the areas of industrial development, infrastructure upgrading and livelihood.
Investment in 44 industrial development projects amounted to 18.6 billion yuan, accounting for 66 percent of the total investment.
Hainan has accelerated the launch of industrial development projects in a bid to deepen the construction of the free trade port.
Projects related to high-end manufacturing, petrochemicals, port and shipping logistics start construction in Hainan’s Yangpu. Projects such as South China Sea Geological Science and Technology Innovation Base, Yalong Bay Rose Town, Yalong Bay Huayi (InterContinental) Resort Hotel Phase I and Haitang Commercial Plaza begin construction in Hainan’s Sanya.
