BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- China's railways saw increasing passenger trips since March, which hit 166 million in June with a daily average passenger trips of 5.53 million, up 9.4 percent from that in the previous month, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Wednesday.
According to data from the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd, a daily average of 6,870 trains for passenger transport was put into service last months.
In the first half of this year, the number of railway passenger trips slid 53.9 percent year on year to 818 million due to the adverse effect of the coronavirus pandemic.
China is expected to witness a rebound of passenger flows as the country is steadily reviving its economy, said the company.(Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road,yangyifan@xinhu.org)
