July 09, 2020

Abstract : North China's Shanxi Province unveiled a package of measures to boost the recovery of service industry which has been hit hard by the COVID-19, according to a press release held by the local government on Wednesday.

TAIYUAN, July 9 (Xinhua) -- North China's Shanxi Province unveiled a package of measures to boost the recovery of service industry which has been hit hard by the COVID-19, according to a press release held by the local government on Wednesday.

The move is aimed at reducing corporate costs, enhancing fiscal and financial support, stabilizing employment and stimulating consumption.

For the enterprises in accommodation and catering sector, water price will be reduced by another 10 percent on the basis of a 10-percent reduction announced previously. Residential natural gas price will be adapted to them until the end of the year.

Small and micro-sized enterprises and individual businesses in the service industry that rent state-owned properties will be charged half of their renting fees in the second half of the year.

In terms of stabilizing employment, Shanxi will exempt micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from paying the basic pension, unemployment and work-related injury insurances for their employees until the end of this year.

Meanwhile, Shanxi Province will support cities to hold catering festivals in a bid to promote the development of catering sector, e-commerce sector, convenience chain stores and trade sector.

In addition, Shanxi encourages major scenic spots and cultural venues to extend their opening hours and develop special night tourism activities. (Edited by Zhang Yuan with Xinhua Silk Road, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
