BEIJING, July 3 (Xinhua) -- China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) Thursday announced it will allot 1.05 billion yuan from the central budget to support the construction of Xiongan New Area with high quality and high standards.
In line with the current requirements for the regular prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic, priority should be given to supporting projects of sanitation facilities to improve sanitation condition of Xiongan New Area.
The fund will also be used to guarantee the construction of transportation channels and the supporting roads, water supply and drainage system for the project of "three schools and a hospital" in the starting area, which is supported by Beijing municipal government.
Other projects include the construction of gas facilities, roads and supporting parking lots in the area of the Xiongan high-speed railway station and the ecological construction of Baiyangdian, one of the largest freshwater wetlands in north China near the new area.
Next, the NDRC will coordinate with relevant parties to accelerate the construction of major projects in the Xiongan New Area, help coordinate and solve problems in a timely manner, and continue to increase financial and policy support for the construction of the new area.
