BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Xinhua Silk Road has released the Report on China's Foreign Trade in 2019 which is now available on Xinhua Silk Road Database.
The report presents a retrospective statistical review of China's foreign trade in 2019, involving growing trend, trading partners, trade forms, major import and export commodities and other respects, as well as a forward-looking analysis of China's foreign trade development trend in 2020.
According to the report, China's total imports and exports notched 31.55 trillion yuan, registering a year-on-year increase of 3.4 percent. The exports were 17.23 trillion yuan, up 5 percent; the imports were 14.32 trillion yuan, up 1.6 percent.
China's imports and exports with the Belt and Road countries recorded 9.27 trillion yuan in 2019, growing by 10.8 percent year on year and accounting for 29.4 percent of China's total.
In 2019, China's exports of electromechanical products notched 10.06 trillion yuan, rising by 4.4 percent and accounting for 58.4 percent of China's total exports during the same period. Of the amount, the exports of electrical and electronic products, mechanical equipment, and seven categories of labor-intensive products such as textiles and clothing were 4.63 trillion yuan, 2.87 trillion yuan and 3.31 trillion yuan, up 5.4 percent, 1.4 percent and 6.1 percent, respectively.
Over the year, China's imports of livelihood consumer products, advanced technology equipment and key parts and components grew fast. In the year, China's imports of consumer goods rose by 19 percent. The imports of fruits, cosmetics as well as aquatic products and seafood enjoyed a remarkable rise of 39.8 percent, 38.8 percent and 37.6 percent, respectively.
As China deepens the implementation of multiple policies to stabilize foreign trade, develops more and more trading partners and takes up an increasing trade share, an all-round opening-up landscape will support the steady growth of China's foreign trade, and China's imports and exports are expected to bounce back in 2020, said the report.
