BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhua) -- The just-concluded 2020 Guiyang Import and Export Online Fair witnessed a total transaction value of 1.174 billion yuan (about 166 million U.S. dollars), according to chinanews.com on Tuesday.
Since 2020, the international free trade system has been seriously affected by the COVID-19. The online fair held in Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou province from June 26 to 28 aims to explore new ways of international trade, stabilize foreign trade orders, and promote stable and high-quality development of foreign trade.
The biggest highlight of the online fair is to promote the integration of online and offline development through cloud technologies. During the fair, there were more than one million online views of bulk trade commodities and 2.44 million live views.
In the special event for Chinese and African businesses, the enterprises in Guizhou Province and Africa had "cloud signing" of contracts worth 6.6 million U.S. dollars, including 3.8 million U.S. dollars in tea export orders and 2.8 million U.S. dollars in auto parts export orders.
In addition, the administrative committee of the Guiyang Free Trade Zone signed a framework cooperation agreement with the Southern Africa Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, which will further lay the foundation for the close trade cooperation between Guizhou and Africa and provide an effective foreign trade cooperation platform for bilateral enterprises.
A representative of the African buyers said that through video connection, he saw many special products of Guizhou. Africa and Guizhou have great potential for cooperation, and he is full of confidence in the future economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.
In the special session for ASEAN, enterprises in Guizhou and ASEAN countries signed four major projects on site, involving tires, agriculture and other orders, with a total amount of 8.4 million U.S. dollars.
A total of more than 2,000 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions including Japan, France, Australia, Egypt and Italy, participated in the online fair and displayed more than 20,000 products.
