BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and China's e-commerce giant Alibaba Group have recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly promote implementation of the rural vitalization strategy.
Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in the areas of e-commerce platform service, inclusive financial service innovation and digital rural governance. They will focus on the projects such as digital agriculture, rural governance platform building and county financial services, in an effort to jointly facilitate digital application in rural governance, farmers' cooperatives, and the agricultural social service organizations.
In terms of e-commerce platform service, Alibaba will provide preferential treatment for farmers cooperatives to enter a farm product-centered e-commerce platform, and select high-quality buyers to expand sales channels and reduce marketing costs. At the same time, it will also help farmers' cooperatives improve planting and production standards to realizes a positive linkage between production and sales.
Regarding financial services, MYbank, a leading online private commercial bank under Ant Financial Services Group, Alibaba's financial affiliate, will provide county-level financial service products to farmers' cooperatives and socialized service organizations at all levels, and develop "zero mortgage, no guarantee" credit services.
In terms of digital rural governance, Alibaba will focus on social management, public services, emergency response, and rural civilization and use its communication app DingTalk to build digital governance for townships and villages for free, in a bid to gradually advance the process of digital rural governance.
