BEIJING, June 15 (Xinhua) --Southwest China's border province of Yunnan has recently unveiled a slew of policies to promote high-quality development of its free trade zone (FTZ).
Approved in August last year, China (Yunnan) Pilot FTZ covers areas of Kunming, Honghe and Dehong, with a total area of 119.86 square kilometers.
Yunnan will continue to improve business environment in the FTZ and accelerate construction of the "smart government affairs" to enhance the approval efficiency.
The FTZ will make efforts to accelerate the reform of the engineering construction project approval system, implement regional assessments covering 11 assessment items such as mineral resources, launch comprehensive service windows for engineering construction projects, and enhance the efficiency of construction project approval.
Meanwhile, the FTZ will promote development of "Internet border trade", encourage online promotion and offline transactions, and facilitate trade transformation and upgrading.
It will promote international production capacity cooperation and rely on the border (cross-border) economic cooperation zones to explore new models of capacity cooperation with neighboring countries, and promote cooperation with neighboring countries in trade and investment liberalization, facilitation of personnel exchanges, and efficient and convenient service supervision.
In addition, the FTZ will grant rewards to those leading enterprises such as the global top 500 companies, China's top 500 enterprises, multinational companies, large-scale central enterprises, for moving their headquarters or regional headquarters to the FTZ.
The FTZ will also offer preferential policies in land, talent, finance, tax and other items to support high-quality development. (Edited by Hu Pingchao with Xinhua Silk Road, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
