BEIJING, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Hunan Province has recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO) in Changsha, capital city of Hunan, reported Shanghai Securities News on Wednesday.
According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in such ten fields as foodstuffs, oils, pigs, tea, winemaking, nutrition and health industry-university-institute collaborative innovation, industry-oriented poverty alleviation, advantageous special agricultural products development, urban construction and financial services.
Facing the novel coronavirus epidemic, Hunan has paid close attention to agricultural production with efforts made to stabilize grain production and non-staple food supply and ensure food security and price stability, said Xu Dazhe, governor of Hunan province.
Under the terms of agreement, COFCO is expected to continue to support Hunan's food quality and safety, participate in food storage, guarantee food quality, promote farmers’ income and project construction, and optimize agricultural brands to assist Hunan's high-quality advancement.
