BEIJING, June 1 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will promote the sharing of industrial data to fuel the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), according to an official with MIIT.
MIIT will support upstream and downstream enterprises in advantageous industries to make industrial data available and establish mechanisms for sharing such data. In particular, the authority will encourage platform enterprises and industrial leaders to open digital capabilities and provide digital services concerning areas such as industrial Internet to help SMEs with their digital transformation.
Meanwhile, MIIT will guide industrial equipment manufacturers to open their data interface for data collection, while pressing ahead the construction of industrial Internet and national industrial big data platform to drive high-quality development of manufacturing industry.
Industrial data refers to all the data generated and applied during the whole life cycle of products and services in the industrial sector.
