BEIJING, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Manzhouli railway port, the largest land port in the Chinese mainland, saw its import volume exceed 6 million tons in the first five months of this year, with an increase of five percent year on year, reported chinanews.com on Sunday.
The main imported goods of Manzhouli railway port include coal and iron ore, accounting for 40 percent of total imports. Since the beginning of 2020, the imported coal and iron ore concentrate of Manzhouli railway port reached 1.68 million tons and 1.11 million tons respectively, up 25 percent and 99 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, Manzhouli railway port has arranged 1,157 inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains and transported 103,264 TEUs since 2020, with a year-on-year increase of 12 percent and accounting for one third of the total cross-border China-Europe freight trains.
