BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- An industrial university, ten industrial training bases will be built in the Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) to promote vocational skills of 10,000 employees and reserve 10,000 skilled personnel in key industries, according to an implementation plan released by the area.
According to the plan, the number of vocational workers will gradually increase to over 60 percent of total employees in Lin-gang Special Area in the next three years.
The industrial university will be built under the guidelines of the national pilot program for the integration between industry and education which will cooperate with other Shanghai universities to give full play to Lin-gang's advantages in the areas of intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence and block chain.
The area will also boost the construction of a vocational skills certification center by carrying out vocational skill levels assessment at the training base, municipal industry associations and leading enterprises, said Zhou Qi, vice president of Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions.
