BEIJING, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Affected by COVID-19, China's coke output stood at 110 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2020, down 4.1 percent year-on-year, statistics from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed.
Specifically, the coke output of iron and steel enterprises was 30 million tonnes, an increase of 0.3 percent year-on-year, and that of other coking enterprises was 80 million tonnes, a year-on-year decrease of 5.5 percent.
Besides, the coke prices have dropped significantly. In the first quarter of 2020, the average price of coke with a particle size of over 40mm was 1,838 yuan per tonne, down 10.4 percent year-on-year. The average price of coke with a particle size of between 25mm to 40mm was 1,761 yuan per tonne, down 11.2 percent year-on-year.
