BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) – China's power generation continued positive growth in April thanks to rising power demand, according to the China Electricity Council.
From April 1 to April 15, the country's power generation registered a 1.2 percent growth year on year.
In the first quarter of this year, the nationwide electricity consumption dropped 6.5 percent year on year.
The State Grid Energy Research Institute estimated that with production activities and social life returning to normal, the country's electricity consumption is expected to increase two to three percent year on year during the second quarter.
