InfoQuest, (April 23, 2020) -- Mr. Surapong Pisitpattanapong, vice chairman and spokesman of the Automotive Industry Club of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), revealed if the COVID-19 outbreak continues to rage, it could lead to a 50 percent drop in car exports and production targets this year. Specifically, car production is expected to fall from an earlier forecast of 2 million units to 1 million units, exports from 1 million units to 500,000-700,000 units, and domestic sales will also fall by 50 percent to 500,000 units.
"If the outbreak continues, car production, exports and domestic sales will fall by 50 percent this year, and by 30 percent, at best, if the outbreak eases," Mr. Surapong said.
