BEIJING, April 20 (Xinhua) -- China's import of mineral products including iron ore, manganese ire and chrome ore via Tianjin Customs amounted to 24.457 million tons in the first quarter of this year, soaring 25.94 percent year on year, and the imports of manganese ire and chrome ore have been ranking first among all customs districts of the nation.
It is attributed mainly to the measures of quick inspection and passing, according to the Tianjin Customs.
Tianjin Customs has innovated its customs clearance of mineral products, allowing products to pass the customs-supervision work place after on-site inspection and issuing a certificate after laboratory testing afterwards. The mode of laboratory testing and cargo clearance has been changed from series to paralleling, thus reducing the customs clearance time significantly.
It is learned that in order to faciliate import of mineral products, Tianjin Customs operates for 24 hours a day and seven days a week, and offers WeChat appointment for imported mineral product. Besides, the laboratory accepts samples for 7 days/week plus 24 hours/day to ensure rapid testing.
The series of measures implemented by the Tianjin Customs have effectively relieved the pressure on the raw material inventory of mineral products import companies, thus improving the efficiency of port consolidation and port operation and providing a powerful impetus for enterprises on resumption production.
