BEIJING, April 16 (Xinhua) -- China-Latin America (Mexico) Digital Expo, organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Monday kicked off online in Beijing.
The 15-day expo gathered over 2,000 domestic companies and more than 5,000 overseas buyers.
“The expo focuses on demand of the Latin American market, especially the Mexican market and provide online meeting and accurate matching service for enterprises based on big data,” said Gao Yan, director of the CCPIT, at the opening ceremony.
The buyers from over ten Latin American countries, such as Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica brought over 40,000 data records to suppliers attending the fair, according to Gao.
Aiming to provide consulting, meeting, showcasing and matching service for enterprises, the products exhibited at the fair covered medical care equipment, construction materials and hardware, office supplies, electronics, garments, home appliance, foods and epidemic control products.
The trade promotion council of Hubei, the province hit hard by COVID-19, attended the fair with local enterprises such as Angel Yeast and Amoretto.
"Due to the epidemic, many expos and activities at home and abroad have been temporarily suspended. The online expo offers us a new opportunity to reach out to customers and discuss cooperation without leaving home," said Han Yangwei, a manager from Angel Yeast’s international division.
The CCPIT said it will continue to hold five to eight online international trade expos to build platforms for foreign trade enterprises to find more cooperation opportunities.
