Abstract : A freight train carrying 216 local produced vehicles left Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province on April 8 for Uzbekistan, marking the opening of a new international intermodal freight route linking Wuhan with Central Asian countries.

BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- A freight train carrying 216 local produced vehicles left Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province on April 8 for Uzbekistan, marking the opening of a new international intermodal freight route linking Wuhan with Central Asian countries.

Wuhan branch of the SAIC-GM, a car manufacturer, disclosed that this is the first time for the company operating business of car export  to Central Asian countries along the B&R routes through the freight train.

The successful launch of the freight train is also attributed to the efforts made by Wuhan local transport departments and logistic companies to ensure the safety and timely operation of the freight train when they are assisting the domestic enterprises to resume regular work and production amid the epidemic.

It is noted that Wuhan has started loading plans for a second route of such freight train service to Central Asia, while the local authorities vow continues to make efforts to ensure transport facilities for the industry. (Edited by Jiang Feifan with Xinhua Silk Road, 346129473@qq.com)
