InfoQuest (April 8, 2020) -- Mr. Thakon Tanthasit, secretary-general of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) said that at the committee meeting, the NBTC approved the allocation of 344.647 million baht from the Research & Development Fund for the Public Interest under the Supervision of the NBTC and the department's budget for fiscal year 2020, to provide the first round of financial support for 41 public hospitals and field hospitals to fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.
Specifically, 255.99 billion baht will be drew from the Research & Development Fund for the Public Interest under the Supervision of the NBTC to provide financial support to 12 hospitals, and the NBTC budget will allocate 88.648 million baht to support 29 hospitals.
To back up public hospitals and field hospitals in the fight against the virus, both the Research & Development Fund and the NBTC cut their budgets. In addition to the 1,000 million baht support fund approved earlier, the NBTC has approved an additional 1,294.98 million baht support fund. As of April 7, 2020, it has provided funds totaling 1,972 million baht for 273 hospitals.
