BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua)-- Chinese companies are speeding up their transformation toward digitalization amid the fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19).
The integration of information technology and digital transformation has yielded huge benefits in battling the epidemic, said Wu Hao, director with the Department of High-Tech Industry under the National Development and Reform Commission.
Big data, telemedicine, e-commerce, and mobile payment have played a significant role in epidemic prevention and control as well as production resumption, stated Wu, adding that cloud office, online check on health status and online education are becoming widely accepted.
Enterprises will accelerate embracing cloud transformation and mobile office mode. By turning to intelligent, mobile and social remote office, enterprises can improve collaboration and user experience, according to a report recently released by International Data Corporation (IDC), a global market intelligence firm.
Coping with uncertainties concerning production process, diversification of market demands, value-added products and services, and multi-dimensional industrial cooperation is the main reason behind industrial digital transformation, Yao Lei, deputy director of information technology and software industry research institute of the think tank CCID said in an interview with the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal.
Various industries will move faster in transforming toward digitalization, and digital economy will become an important engine driving economic growth, said Wu.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will formulate relevant industrial digital transformation policies to further inject new impetus into economic development, noted an official with the ministry. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, silviasu07@163.com)
