BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) -- China Mobile, one of the country's leading telecommunications operators, on Thursday reported its 2019 profit decreased by 9.5 percent year on year.
Profit attributable to equity shareholders stood at 106.6 billion yuan (about 15.1 billion U.S. dollars) last year, the company said in a statement.
Operating revenue totaled 745.9 billion yuan, up 1.2 percent year on year, of which revenue from telecom services was 674.4 billion yuan, a gain of 0.5 percent, according to the statement.
The operator had 950 million mobile subscribers last year, a net increase of 25.21 million from a year earlier, while its wireline broadband users added 25.09 million to reach 172 million.
The statement showed that the company had more than 50,000 5G base stations in use in 2019 and provided 5G services in 50 cities.
