BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) – Local customs in various regions and cities of east China's Jiangsu Province have made efforts to ensure the regular operation of China-Europe freight trains amid the COVID-19 epidemic, reported Economic Daily Wednesday.
On February 14, a China-Europe freight train named Xuzhou loaded with machinery products produced by Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (XCMG) set off for Moscow, capital of Russia. This the first freight train to Europe after XCMG resumes work.
Located in Xuzhou city, northwest of Jiangsu Province, XCMG is a well-known manufacturer for producing construction machinery products in Jiangsu.
"The resumption of operation of freight trains from Xuzhou to Europe has not only promoted the resumption of work and production of enterprises but also helped them to enhance the confidence of maintaining a business partnership with international customers," said Wu Jianglong, vice president of XCMG.
It is noted that local customs in Xuzhou has formulated an export guarantee plan for XCMG to ensure its routine business operation amid the epidemic. At the same time, facilitation measures such as proper equipment and paperless inspection are also adopted by the customs for improving the efficiency of investigation for the freight trains.
Since XCMG was rated as senior certified enterprises, the customs has implemented a rapid release of the enterprise declaration form, according to an officer from Xuzhou customs, adding that the generation of the arrival report to the statement of the customs declaration can be completed within one minute.
Meanwhile, the local customs of Lianyungang, a famous port city in Jiangsu, launched a reservation system for customs clearance to ensure timely customs clearance for enterprises amid the epidemic.
An official from the Lianyungang Customs revealed that the customs have adopted online examination and approval for custom clearance and used the multimodal transport auxiliary system to check the electronic seal of containers, to ensure smooth custom clearance procedures for enterprises amid the epidemic.
On February 16, the Suzhou-Manzhouli-Europe freight train loaded with 92 standard containers of electronic products and textiles departed from Suzhou heading for Russia.
It is noted that the Suzhou-Manzhouli-Europe freight train is a China-Europe freight train that starts from Suzhou and leaves China through Manzhouli Port in northwest China’s Inner Mongolia to Warsaw, capital of Poland. This freight train is expected to return to a scheduled export frequency of four trains per week recently. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, 346129473@qq.com)
