BEIJING, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Local customs in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province recently has unveiled 16 measures to support the development of the China-Europe freight trains in the province, reported Chinanews.com last Friday.
Xi'an customs should give priority to support the development of multimodal transport business linked by China-Europe freight trains and give permission on multi-journey customs clearance of freight train cargoes.
Joint efforts will be made by Xi'an customs and the railway department to support the construction of a cargo assembly center in the Xi'an International Trade & Logistics Park.
It is noted that importing enterprises will be allowed to conduct customs clearance procedures for the freight trains cargoes either at the port or the place where the enterprise is located.
The customs will expand the scope of imported goods, support vehicle import business, and further facilitate cross-border e-commerce and express transport business via the freight trains.
In terms of helping domestic enterprises to going out, measures will be taken to provide enterprises with proper technical support for customs inspection and quarantine, as well as assist the enterprise to figure out issues of foreign restrictive trade measures.
Xi'an customs will also strengthen cooperation with the European countries such as Kazakhstan, in the fields of information exchange, mutual trust in supervision and typical assistance in law enforcement, at the same time to enhance cooperation between the Chang'an freight trains and the countries along the Maritime Silk Road and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
Customs data show that Xi'an saw a total of 360 freight trains transported between the city and countries including Russia, Germany, and Belarus in the first two months of 2020, ranking the first among all the provinces and regions in the country. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, 346129473@qq.com)
