BEIJING, Feb. 14(Xinhua) -- Electric vehicle maker Tesla has decided to recall about 3,183 vehicles from the Chinese market, according to the country's top quality watchdog.
The recall, projected to begin from June 7 this year, will involve 3,183 imported Model X SUVs produced between Apr. 15, 2016 and Oct. 16, 2016, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) said on Friday.
The planned recall came after Tesla noticed "excessive corrosion" on bolts that connect the Model X's power-steering component to its steering gear, particularly in cold environments.
The automaker promised to fix the issue for free, according to the SAMR.
