Simest supports Serioplast packaging in Australia

February 03, 2020

Abstract : The funds allocated by SACE to the Australian activities of Serioplast will finance the creation of a new plant, in which 6 production lines addressed to the costumer Henkel will be implemented.

MILAN, Jan. 24 (Class Editori) - The funds allocated by SACE to the Australian activities of Serioplast will finance the creation of a new plant, in which 6 production lines addressed to the costumer Henkel will be implemented.

The company, that together with SACE represents the export hub of CDP group acquired 49 percent of Australia PTY, a subsidiary of the company from Bergamo. It is an investment of 2.5 million, which will also strengthen the company's export, because each product line and mould will be produced in the Italian factories of the group.

In Australia, the seventh operation since 2014 led by Simest to support Serioplast is currently taking place, which had previously occurred in cooperation with Turkey, Russia and South Africa. In 2016, 43 percent of the social equity of Serioplast Ambalaj was acquired for an amount of €3 million (2 million trough Simest and 1 million through its Venture Capital Found). Serioplast Ambalaj is the new company established in Turkey, with the aim of producing plastic bottles in order to supply the Headquarters of the multinational corporation Unilever, located in Konya (Anatolia).

In the following years, SACE has granted some financing safeguards to support investments and invoice discounting by SACE FCT product company. These safeguards have been added to the above-mentioned interventions. The enterprise was born in 1974 and it is now active in the supply of complete packing services, offering customised plastic bottles to the largest multinational corporations which are working in the consumer market (food, household cleaning, personal care). The Group mainly works across the European borders and, thanks to Simest, over the past years it has started the extra-UE market development, aiming at following the final customer in the country in which the production plant is located. The consolidated turnover expected for 2019 will reach about €260 million with more than 1.700 operators involved. Today it owns 30 plants and has a country-wide presence in 14 countries worldwide. The main customers are represented by large consumer market producers, such as the multinational corporations Procter & Gamble and Unilever.
