SHENZHEN, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- An average of 663,000 people were cleared for entry and exit at the land, rail, air and sea ports of Shenzhen every day in 2019, the city's immigration office said.
The city handled 242 million passengers last year, accounting for 36 percent of China's total.
Gou Gaorong, deputy administrator of Shenzhen's immigration authority, said 544 self-service checkpoints for passengers and 102 fast passes for vehicles were put into use last year, which accounted for over 66 percent of the total clearance channels. The percentage of self-service clearance was elevated to over 70 percent.
